We strongly believe in encouraging the artistic and creative side of every child`s development. The vibrant Art & Design Department provides displays throughout the school and influences much classroom work. In recent years many pupils have gained major Art Scholarships to local schools. As well as painting and drawing, pupils also have the opportunity in working with ceramics, textiles, clay and other materials.

A flourishing Music Department has teachers who offer a wide variety of string, wind and percussion instruments, and many study the piano. There is an orchestra and a choir that perform at Christmas and in concerts, and children are encouraged to take Associated Board exams. Exceptional musicians will have the opportunity to work for a scholarship.

Weekly Drama lessons are held in The Studio, and a visiting Speech & Drama teacher provides intensive tuition. A full scale production, involving a large number of actors, singers and musicians , is put on in the Spring Term. This year, `Macbeth - the Musical` was tremendous fun.
